WHAT WE DO AND WHY WE LOVE IT!
We noticed a need for local, sustainable and responsibly grown beef in Southern York County, Pennsylvania. Dan, growing up farming and raising beef decided to raise a small herd for his growing family to enjoy. But word quickly got out!
Dan and Giana now farms full time with the family in tow. Our beef is unique in the area because it is all grass fed, grass finished. We never feed antibiotics, hormones, GMOs, silage or grains of any kind. This keeps our beef LEAN and delicious!
We are excited to now also offer pasture raised chicken. Available in limited quantities, you won't believe the taste difference in all natural, pasture raised, non-GMO chicken!
We are also doing Turkeys on a seasonal basis! Very limited quantities raised on all natural, pasture, non-GMO feed are available annually, reserved in the summer for pick up in the Fall. Enjoy Blue Dog Farms Turkey for your Thanksgiving, Christmas or Holiday meals!
Pasture raised, non-GMO fed pork is now available to reserve. We will be offering whole hogs on an annual basis. Don't miss out on your opportunity to fill your freezer with delicious pasture raised pork, chicken, turkey and beef!
When you buy pasture raised meats from Blue Dog Farms, you become part of our "Friends of the Farm" and part of our family. You are welcome to come out to the farm, by appointment, ask all your questions and learn from our family about what we do and why we love doing it.
Thank you for trusting us to grow your food and God bless!

The Homegrown By Heroes (HBH) label is the official farmer veteran branding program of America. The label serves to inform consumers that agricultural products donning the logo were produced by U.S. military veterans. Additionally, farms and agricultural business displaying the logo denotes a Homegrown By Heroes-certified operation. Learn more by clicking the link here: Homegrown By Heroes.
Find us on Facebook. We frequently post about the happenings on the farm, our latest blog and YouTube updates and about availability for quarter/half/full animal as well as individual cuts. This is also where we announce new products available such as our pasture raised, non-GMO chickens and Turkeys!

What is PA Preferred?
PA Preferred is a state-supported agricultural marketing program. The State Department of Agriculture launched the PA Preferred program to identify and promote food and agricultural products grown, produced or processed in Pennsylvania.
Buying local is not just a trend or fad. When a Pennsylvania resident purchases a product grown or made in Pennsylvania, they are directly supporting the state’s economy. By purchasing local products, you are also encouraging and allowing Pennsylvania business to do what they do best- to continue growing and creating great products. When it comes to produce and other food items, you are guaranteed to have fresher, better tasting products.
The Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund ismall grant program that provides direct assistance to veterans who are in their beginning years of farming or ranching. The Fellowship Fund does not give money directly to the veteran, but rather to third-party vendors for items the veteran has identified will make a crucial difference in the launch of their farm business. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000, and more than $1.9 million has been awarded to veterans since 2011.
Giana was honored be a Farmer Veteran Fellow in 2020! We appreciate all this group does for our fellow farmer veterans!
